Hello, from Northern California

Postby Traveller » Sun Sep 05, 2010 11:48 pm

I'm not sure if I can even call myself a Newbie at this point. I am looking into getting Teardrop or TTT. I have some friends who have a T@B and love it. I have some other friends who have a pop-up trailer and love that, too.

I'm a single guy and have a lot of experience backpacking and camping in tents. I still want to do backpacking, but I want to save my tents for when I'm out in the backcountry. For campgrounds, I have been thinking a teardrop or TTT would be perfect. I don't want a huge RV, but I want something that is small and of good quality.

I Googled teardrop discusssion forums, and this one seemed the most promising for info and advice. I hope to get some education and support in my search.

Looking forward to reading your topics!

:)

Howdy, from The Apple Capital of the World. You will be surprised on how great a Teardrop makes for a base camp. I can store my gear go out exploring for the day and make it back for a good night's sleep.

I started using a CPAP 4 years ago and had to transition out of tents. I hope to see you around.

Thanks for the warm welcomes, everyone!

Right now, I'm in the lurking stage since I don't have a Teardrop or Trailer yet so I really don't have much to contribute. I just want to learn what I can until I get one. I'll probably post some questions if I can't find the answer in any of the previous topics.

Matt, I like your idea of using a Teardrop as a base camp.

Do I see another Jefferson State Member  Another benifit of owning a teardrop....they also go into the back country....I'm never afraid of going down ANY country road with my teardrop because I can ALWAYS just unhook it...spin it around and DONE. If you're building your own....many are weekend road warrior types. Keep reading, especially the building threads and you'll get so many ideas your head will explode :x One more thing, like Eunice said....a whole group of us are headed to Austin Nv. for a gathering at The Hickison Petroglyphs in just 9 days. Sept. 17-19th....come out, check out some trailers....sit by the fire and just hang with the gang. 8)

go to a gathering and check out all the different teardrops. You will get so many ideas, like Kay said, your head will explode but it is so much better to see them and be able to ask questions in a conversation.

Possibly, possibly...

Yes, I like the idea of being able to unhook a teardrop and turning it around. I don't see myself building one, though. I'm not really mechanically inclined. The Petroglyphs gathering sounds fun, but I'm getting ready to take off on a 2-week vacation in Oregon in a week. Kinda wish I had a teardrop.

Just keep tellin' yourself you're doin' the right thing.
The td would be a great base camp and a great
jumping off point for more adventures.
