newbie from Oklahoma

Postby emtgared » Sun Oct 17, 2010 10:52 pm

hello all,

im a newbie from oklahoma.. been lurking on the site for a few weeks, and have begun building my teardrop thanks to much of the information i have gained here.. figured it was time to start up an account and start posting though lol.. so in a few days i will start my build thread, but tonight its all homework.. got two test tomorrow for college lol..

anyways a little about me.. im 22, im an EMT and in paramedic school at the moment.

during my high school years, about half of it was spent camping at the state park near where i live.. i really enjoy camping, and try to get outdoors as much as possible.. i also ride atvs in my free time, as well as take my boat to the lake..

anyways in the last few months i began looking into getting a camper, to allow me to camp in the summer ( i cant sleep if im too hot) as well as in the dead of winter.. so i looked online for something small and cheap.. all the campers i found on craigslist and the such were either to expensive or in need of too much work, so i though about building my own.. i did some browsing on the internet, found some teardrops and fell in love.. so my quest had begun!

next day, an old pop up camper frame was available around where i live, for free so i began work! lol.. after some planning and research i begun building it.. ill post it up in the build journal later this week if i get a chance..

anyways its nice to meet all you guys, and thanks for the advice ive learned from you whether you knew it or not lol.. and i hope to get to meet some of you in the future..

Yea~ another teardrop lover in Oklahoma ! Good luck on your build, and on college... good for you! My advice for a newbie is to find one to look at in person ... do really see the size and features and lift the hatch, lay down inside. Makes a difference.

What will you be towing with? A pop up frame makes me picture an oversized teardrop . But by building it yourself, you will make it a one of a kind and just perfect for your type of camping.

Welcome!
Julie

Welcome to the group we need all the okies we can get. This is a neat adventure you are about to start. .....Oh and my son has been a paramedic for Muskogee County EMS the last year. I know the dedication and training it takes for your future carear. Hang in there you will make it with paramedic/EMT and building your TD.
