Hello from Riverside, Ca.

I have been building a Benroy style teardrop for about 6 months now, and decided I should get on this forum. I have been reading it for 8 months, and have gotten a lot of great information from all of you. I have all of the inside and outside cabinets done, and I am now wiring and then applying aluminum to the roof, hatch, and equipment box. I have learned a lot about how I will build the next one. I will post some pictures soon.

We already talked on your build thread, but welcome anyway! There are a number of folks in S.C. in your area. Al fink and John in Los Osos for a couple, they will probably chime in soon, and Gage, teardrop focus, cuyevda are some more.

You are making serious progress on your tear, you should be ready for camping season in no time.

Hi Al,

It's good to know that there is someone close by. We are planning to be at the Lake Perris gathering next spring. It sounds like a lot of fun. We went to the gathering at Hurkey Creek, and just walked around and talked to a lot of very nice people.

It's kind of funny how I got involved with Teardrop Trailers. I have been trying to get my wife to go camping for many years, but she wouldn't go in a tent, and of course didn't want to spend the money for a large camper. She saw a teardrop trailer and mentioned to me that she would camp if she had a Teardrop Trailer. That's all I needed to hear. I started researching and gathering all the information that I could find to design a Teardrop. I started building it about 2 months later, and my wife keeps bugging me to "Get er Done".

I am sure we'll be seeing you pretty soon. I noticed that you were involved with the Riverside Astronomical Society. Were you at the Riverside plaza a week or two ago when they were showing people the Moon? We were going to the book store and noticed them.

Great job on your build.

Normally I would have been at the Tyler Galleria on that evening, but Karen and I were a part of the Mini-route 66 tour that week.

Photos are posted in "Trips, Pics and Hiway Tales"
under "Route 66 fun run"

We try to have telescopes at both of the malls once a month, but our calendar gets so full sometimes that Saturday we will be at a museum, park, etc. we do well over 60 events annually.

If you interested in coming out to try a star-party, just click on the astronomy link in my signature and check the outreach calendar, we have a good one comming up on Dec 10 at the Hidden Valley Nature Center off Arlington, just a few minutes from down town.

Ken and Kay, welcome aboard. Since you are only about 30 minutes from Wildomar, you gotta come by and see me. The coffee is always on, and I too, will be planning to attend the Lake Perris Gathering in the Spring. Come on by, we'll talk teadrops and share some experiences, past or future. Hey, locals have got to stick together, and perhaps share a campfire and a glass of wine together.............
8) ;) Roly
