MS Gulf Coast Newbie...

Postby C-Dude » Sun Jan 30, 2011 11:33 pm

hello all from the cold wet beaches of the Gulf Coast! Not new to building/repairing or designing trailers overall, but this will be my first foray into the TTTT world. Posted a proof of concept thought on the "Non-Traditional" board.... read up, tell me I'm screwed in the head - wife sorta has but....

Anyhow, ours will be towed behind my Goldwing M/C or the wife's Kia Sorrento when my 4x4 is out of gas!

Have read a lot of good information while still stalking, can't wait to get started on this final design and build.

BTW - any recommendations on sources for windows, doors etc will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the madness. You may want to touch base with Jerry A. (Tearjerkers-Magnolia Chapter) for Mississippi gatherings during your build- probably get a lot of questions answered.

The Alabama (Sweet Tear Alabama) Chapter just had a gathering at Gulf Shores January 14-16. There is also the Cajun Chapter in Louisiana which may be closer to you.

Great to hear you are building - hope to see you at a gathering!

Welcome to the madness Jim!! Check your local Auto salvage yards for wrecked RV's, Craigslist and ebay even. I'm not sure why but I seem to remember thats there is an RV salvage yard I believe either in MS or it may be Arkansas I found on line sometime ago. Good luck!!

There's a yard just up the street from my shop... will have to stop in an check if they have any or at least a line on parts.

Thanks, I'm gonna like it here!

Already have my dad (former engineer (several strokes)) adding his two cents in and has he got a doozie of an idea - now to figure out how to make it work!

Later gator!
