I have been hanging out here some over the last couple years. I bought a Scamp a year and a half ago or so but it was just too small for me. I'm 6'4". I couldn't stretch out on the bed. I then started to fall for older vintage trailers. I was looking mostly at ones made in the 50's. Hard to find a small trailer for someone this tall. I knew I'd find something if I kept looking.
I am very happy with the purchase of a 1966 Aladdin that I made a few weeks ago. It's in very nice shape. It gives me full headroom and a 80" long bed. I read somewhere that it was one of the lightest trailers of it's size at the time, around 1147 lbs I think. I pulled it from near Eugene OR down to where I live with my 4 cyl Tacoma. By the way, I live in the SW corner of Jefferson State, along the coast of Mendocino.
I have already cleaned the inside, including adding some paint, stripped the stove top back to the original aqua color as well as the icebox. I sewed new curtains and am ready to make new cushions next. It is everything I wanted in a trailer, with a stove, icebox, gaslight, water tank, headroom and a long enough bed. After the cushions I will start on the outside.
My traveling canine partner and I look forward to some nice adventures mostly along the north coast of California and the Oregon coast.
