Hello from Iowa

Postby midwestexploration » Sun Mar 27, 2011 6:47 pm

Hello everyone my name is Craig. I was looking for information about converting an enclosed trailer into a mobile cabin and found your little slice of heaven. I have grown up playing in the outdoors my whole life and am now trying to instill the same love in my children. My wife and I are talking about purchasing a 16-20ft enclosed trailer to convert into a mobile base camp for exploring the midwest and the rest of this beautiful nation. I hope to have my trailer soon and plan on spending ALOT of time lurking and reading.

I dont know what part of Iowa you are in .... but there are several of us that are going to camp at Wintersett IA by Bridges of Madison County in August. Also .... north central MO .... Arrow Rock ... the 15th of April. We would love for you to come by and visit .... or come by the camp with us. Gary and I live about 40 miles northeast of KC and there are a bunch of us in the KC area that camp together Trudy

Glad to see some people from around here. Makes me feel a little more at home and definitely able to get some advice on where to take the family on camping and hiking trips.

Welcome from another Iowan. I would have posted sooner but just got back from my annual Oklahoma trip. I attended the Beaver's Bend Gathering and spent a few days with my daughter and family.
You need to get a trailer done so you can camp with us at Tears by the River in September at Thompson, Il

We usually have 10-12 campers. A small gathering but always a good time.

Yeas the goal is to get one asap and start the conversion. My wife has actually already designed it so once we get it we can start building. I am hoping to get it sooner than later but if it doesn't work out for summer I should be getting it early fall. If I have it I would love to go and meet up with some like minded people.
