Hello From Arkansas

Postby D Cat » Thu Apr 14, 2011 11:01 am

Hi everyone,

I have been visiting this site for a while now and was about to start on my first teardrop. It was going to be 4x8, non insulated, quick build (if there is such a thing). I was wanting to be camping in it by early fall. The intent was to build another one in the future when I could take my time and build a 5x9. Well, my girl friend and I just purchased a project that was already started. It is a 5x8, insulated walls, floor, and ceiling. It doesn't not have a hatch built yet. It has the walls up, the roof on all the way to the start of the hatch and the doors cut out but not framed yet. A very good start!! He has started covering with canvas. Only the top is done but I have enough canvas to completed the rest. I'll be relying on information that I have found on here to complete. I'll post some pics as soon as I get back from Ft. Worth this weekend. I'm going to try and have it completed by middle of summer. I'll be pulling it most of the time with my 1966 corvair.

Love this site and it has been really helpful in pushing me to finally get my teardrop started.

Welcome, friend(s)!

We're a long way off, but have some family in AR. Good luck, have fun and keep us posted. As you already know, tons of info on here (probably more than you will need) so, you just have to find the point you plan to jump in and just do it. :applause:

I'll try and get some taken when I'm off again. Rain and storms have had my attention held other places but I plan to get some work time on it the end of this week. I'll take dome pictures then.

Welcome D Cat,

We look forward to your build. There are several owners/builders of very nice TDs and TTTs in Arkansas.

I used to live not to far from you in Hot Springs. Beautiful country, and if my wife could have found decent work, we'd probably still be there.

If you get it ready by Fall, be sure and sign up for the LCG VI outing at the end of October. Details can be found in the South Central section of this forum.

Take care, Tom
Tom (& Linda)
