Hello to all! I am looking to build an offroad capable Teardrop and stumbled across this site doing my research. GREAT info here so far!
I intend to construct this from the ground up with sleeping room for my wife and myself (plus dog), full kitchen w/ pullouts, roof rack, and water/fuel storage. This will be towed long distances over some fairly nasty terrain at times and be setup as a basecamp for further 4x4 excursions into the wilds. I'm looking for this to be in the 5x7 size range with 16-19 inches of ground clearance. It will be used all across this great country so it must tolerate arid dessert as well as damp woodlands and weigh under 1700 lbs dry.
Meanwhile, I have given myself a year to get this built, tested, adjusted, and ready for the summer of 2012. I think this this is totally do-able. And I think this site will be coming in very handy! I'll be asking plenty of questions, so thankyou all in advance.
