New Member in Iowa

Hi all! Yes, I'm a lurker- actually only for a couple of days though. I've seen teardrops around, and have always thought how neat they look, but never thought much more about them as my husband and I are pretty avid tent campers.
That all changed when we found out my husband could work from home (I'm a designer/crafter and able to work anywhere), and since we don't have kids yet- just our two dogs, we figured why not just take this little family on the road?
As of yet we don't own a teardrop, but we are in the market- I'm a voracious web searcher (but always interested in great new links, especially for td sales!)
We are planning on headed out to ITC4 to check out all the great work and get some ideas, but hoping to head out on the road, living out of our td come mid July or the beginning of Aug.
I'm so glad we found this website! What a blessing! And so many neat, caring, and helpful people on here!!
Looking forward to meeting you all!!

Welcome and good luck Ashley, sounds like a true adventure. Also, have you looked under the Teardrop Manufacturer link?

Welcome Ashley! I'm not sure what part of Iowa you are in but we are having a gathering in August in Madison County, Winterset, IA. It will be smaller than ITG but we'd love to have you come. Maybe you'll have a teardrop by then!

If you are up to a three hr drive(one way) this weekend you could ckeck out our teardrops and gain a wealth of information from some veteran teardroppers.
There will be two homebuilts, one Pleasant Valley, and three Camp Inns there, including Craig and Betsey from Camp Inn.
Randy

Also, I could easily be talked into selling my tear at a very reasonable price :thinking:

@ GeoDrop- thanks for the invite! I sure hope we are on the road by then- We are hoping to buy a tear in the next month! :) ;)

@ Bodyman- thanks for the Tearjerkers link, I just signed up this morning. I would definitely be interested in learning more from some pros and seeing what you all have done with your tds! Where in NE Iowa are you located/going to be? Also- which td are you considering selling? Any photos? Thanks!! :thinking:

@Honeask- Thanks for the welcome! I have looked at manufacturer sites, however I think we're more interested in either buying an older model, a woody, or an all alum that isn't currently being mass produced (nothing against them, I just love the classic td's for their americana charm). But thanks for the tip!!
:)
@Starleen2- Thanks !!
