Maybe not so new. I started my teardrop on February 11 2008, I finished it today June 5th 2011. I learned about teardrop trailers from Bud Klinefelter. I got through the basic framework and quit. I asked a local teardrop enthusiast named Eddie Miller to help me with the hatch and doors. He did a fantastic job! Thank you Eddie. I am going to register it tomorrow.[/img]
I took my trailer to MVD in Avondale today. The inspection was painless, they didn't even check the lights, just measured the length and width and issued a perm tag.
Congratulations on the new build. Mo and I are newbies too and look forward to our first get together with more experienced folks. We would love to see some pics of your completed teardrop.
So what plans do you have, now that you have it licenced? There are lots of great areas within the state but me thinks a fellow may want to travel to a little higher elevations than Phoenix this time of year. Flagstaff and Williams are calling our names, eh?

Afte the silicone dries and the new bed vapors and dispersed, we will probably take a test camp out at either pine flats in Sedona or Lynx lake in Prescott. We will leave the desert camping for December. After all the bugs are worked out then we will go a little deeper IE. Forest road 300 or the bradshaws.
Just went through you build pics. Looks like a very nice job. No doubt, you should be having a good time in your new teardrop. There are a lot of places that a tear can go. Yours esspecially, because you have a bit better ground clearance. Mine is lower and longer so not a versitile but I do have a 4X4 trailer as well.
If you enjoy offroad travel with a trailer, check out the forum on Expedition Portal. A lot of back country travellers.
