Newbie from Northern Nevada

Hi everyone. My name is Josh and I sure am glad I found this site.

My wife and I have been looking for an inexpensive way to get out of tent camping for awhile, and I recently came across a somewhat unique option. The build process is being documented here:

The trailer will mostly be used as a "mobile hunting cabin" and also for trips to Pyramid Lake outside of Reno, where "primitive" camping is an understatement.

I work in the automotive field, so the build isn't going to be too much of a stretch for me. However, finding the time and money to get it done the way I want is always a challenge - as I'm sure most can relate.

Our recreational activities include hunting, shooting, waterskiing, and exploring NV's vast landscape on ATV. Tow vehicle is a Cummins diesel, so weight isn't a real issue for us. Eventually I'd like to build a toy hauler trailer, but we are going to start with this build and see how it goes first.

Welcome! There are quite a few of us now, I'm sure they will chime in. We are out in Lovelock, but spend quite a bit of time in Reno visiting the grandkids. Also very familiar with Pyramid, got to camp in the now closed areas before the idiots made it necessary for the tribe to close it to the public. And the Wind, boy do I remember the wind! Like your trailer, looks much better after the 45 spray paint cans. That's a lot!
