New to teardrops....

Postby frettls » Mon Jun 27, 2011 10:01 pm

Hello all. My wife and I are picking up a used little guy tomorrow. We'r
so exited about this, they just look like such fun. I have a ridiculously
basic question.......so were does one camp in a teardrop? Are we only
permited to camp at like KOA or state parks and such? The gentleman selling us the tear said he's stayed at wallmart, truckstops, and rest stops.....I'm just wondering what others have doen and co when they travel.
We are planning a trip from TX to northern Nv in sept, any advice from the
Road Savvy?

Welcome and aren't you lucky! This is the perfect place to get all your answers. We are in the process of getting our teardrop and we are gonna go anywhere we want to. I am a big fan of Texas state parks and there is so many. We are planning on a stop over at Fairfield Lake State Park when we bring ours home from Fort Worth area. Can't wait. Good luck and I am sure you will get plenty of suggestions.
Sandy

We're not here for a long time, just here for a good time.

Welcome! It can be hard to know what category to tell the campground. Sometimes you have to select "pop-up camper," sometimes "small trailer," sometimes just "camper." The only place where you might not be wholeheartedly welcome might be a campground that specifically caters to big RV's.

It's official, got the little guy. Now to give er our personal touch. 8)
I Want to take er out asap but the weather is a bit much in dallas.
Is it in bad taste to use a power generator? I don't have one but need
to know of a brand, model that is low noise. I have a neighbor with a
guest who has an rv and a generator going all night for the AC. I'm
not a big fan.
Can't wait to get er out!

Welcome to the forum Frettls.

Check out the South Central Section of the forum. We have a gathering at Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake in September. Not far from Dallas.
