Hello from Madison, Wisconsin!

Postby happy phantom » Tue Feb 08, 2011 7:33 pm

I've been lurking this forum for a very long time-well, long time in internet terms anyway..

I am having TC Teardrops make me a custom 4 by 8 teardrop and I should be getting it in April. I am looking forward to being able to contribute (and ASK) questions. :)

I am slightly worried about my tow vehicle-the specs say it should be able to tow 1,000 pounds and my teardrop is going to be around 800.

Anyway, I'm a newbie and hope to fit in well here! :)

Hi, Dan-I'm pulling the tear with a Chevy Cavalier-the larger engine, I think it's a 2.6? Anyway I'm just cautious since I have never pulled a trailer of any sort! I also live in a big condo building and have an underground parking stall where it is going to be residing-getting it into that stall will be entertaining as well! I might have to have my boyfriend do that part at least the first time. Do you think it is something I could just push into place if I get it close enough, with a trailer dolly or something?

But I am really psyched about getting Lisa (my trailer is going to have a picture of Lisa Simpson playing the saxophone on it), looking forward to decorating her, getting the gallery set up-can you tell I'm a woman? LOL

Thank you for the warm welcome. :)

Welcome! Take a look at the St Croix Chapter of the Tearjerkers for some gatherings! We look forward to camping with you! If your trailer comes with a tongue jack, and the tongue jack has a wheel, you will be able to disconnect it from your car and push it into your garage parking spot (as long as you aren't pushing it up hill).

Welcome from West Allis, WI. There is nothing like camping in a tearrdrop. Hope you can get to some of the gatherings, including the one at the end of April at Kohler/Andre State Park.

Welcome Happy Phantom,
Lucky you to already have a teardrop. Love the Lisa theme, please take some pictures. The graphics should be great.

Welcome, Lisa, from another Wisconsinite (Whitewater area)! Congrats on unlurkerizing yourself! Consider coming to Cooler Near the Lake V (check it out in the "Midwest" area of the gatherings section. You'll probably get your tear just in time to join the group at Kohler-Andrae State park the last weekend of April!

Wow, you guys are wonderful! I hope I am ready to go to that first gathering in April, but the due date for my teardrop is actually April 30. I might get it before then, but no guarantees.

Thank you all for making me feel so welcome. :) :)

(by the way, I'm Kathy)

Pat...I think you have created a new forum term!

Kathy...welcome to the madness & congrats on your new teardrop...you will find many fellow teardroppers in Wisconsin and we do lots of camping together - both formal and informal gatherings.

Hope to meet up with you around the campfire!

Very nice! I hope you are happy with your new tear. Did you get it into your parking space?

Hi Kathy,
Like Betsey said, welcome to the forum and to the madness! Congrats on your new teardrop! TC Teardrops has some neat and reasonably priced trailers.
I'm still in the build stage, but hope to be done by late August. Hope to meet up with you at a gathering in MN or WI.
Take care,
Lil M.
