New Nooby

Hi All, I've been reading about, dreaming, drawing and I think I'm ready to start building a TTT.

I am a general contractor with 35 years experience in the building trades mostly remodeling high end homes. I also love cars and spend too much time with my '73 Jensen Healey. I tend to go through hobbies every few years and have built a few acoustic guitars, done a bit of cycling, brewed a little beer, you get the picture.

I love wood so for a first build I planning a Slumbercoach inspired 4x9. I purchased a HF 1175# 4x8 this afternoon. Following the Gen Ben plan I bolted two cross braces to the side rails and moved the axle back 4 ". One side is done.

I plan to extend the tongue to make room for a storage box so it's off to the steel supplier tomorrow.

Thanks for the website and all the great tips. I'll try to figure out the photo thing over the next few days!

Welcome!

It sounds like you have plenty of experience. A woody teardrop is always popular. Please post pictures of your build.

Take care,
Tom

OK, first things first. I am testing an avitar. Can you see it?

Got the HF together and painted black yesterday. Also painted the 2x2 tongue extention for installation today. Time to build the floor. I will take pics today.
