New from utah

Postby talkturkey » Sat Sep 24, 2011 9:47 pm

I'm a new one to this forum. I've built one teardrop already and starting my second teardrop. The first one didn't have kitchen in the back. It was overwhelming for my first wood metal project. I feel I can do it this second time. I'm building it 5 x 11.5 x 5 high. I hope all works out the way I have it in my head. I might put a roof top tent ( m.o.a.b) for the kids. Has any one done this with the roof top tent before? If so does it work well? I'll post some pictures up of the first teardrop and as I start the second one I'll post some pictures.

RTT's will work.

I have seen some of the off road teardrops with RTT's on them. I don't see where there would be a problem. Just make sure that your cross bars are strong enough. Also note that some RTT's require three cross bars, but again, not really a problem.

I think that a RTT is a better idea than putting up a normal tent. The main reason we have the TD's is because we don't want to mess with putting up a tent and RTT's go up so easy. If my kids were still home, I would have one on the TD. Wait! What am I saying; if I still had the kids at home, I couldn't afford the TD or the RTT.

I do have a RTT on my off road trailer (not a teardrop) and I am very happy with it.
