Newbie am me

Postby debclardy » Thu Nov 03, 2011 11:05 am

Greetings!

I am a newbie!! A bit wacko like the rest of you. I am turning 61 this month and thinking about retiring early at 62. I am a certified chaplain, or certifiable!!! I teach part time for Indiana Wesleyan University and Trinity International University in Deerfield, IL. I did get to visit your gathering at Mississinewa State Park outside of Peru, IN. Thanks for all of the ideas. My Teardrop is just completed; but, I can't get it till I pay the other half!! Picky, Picky!!!

I am actually considering living in this little bed on wheels. Got any ideas?
God Bless you all and I hope to meet more of you, soon.

Welcome, Cookie!! Yes, we're a little wacky, even me with my TTT. But, we're awfully friendly wacky here :? .

Living full time in a tear drop? Sure you can...depending on how well you can pack, how well you can be a minimalist (is that a real word????), and whether you don't really need roots. Any thing is possible if you truly want it enough!!!

Me, I'd do a trial run for a month or two to make sure that I really could live in a confined space. If I could, then I would get rid of all of that unnecessary stuff that won't fit in the TD.

When you get delivery of your new TD, be sure to post some pics--this group loves pics :applause:

Take care, and keep in touch. Oh, and early retirement is nice.....

Welcome to the T&TTT group! Greetings from the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Western NC!

The idea of living full time in a teardrop has come up in several threads, in the past. I searched and found a few of them, although I am certain there are more. We have had several members who were living for extended stays in their TD.

Anyway, here are some links to a few of the previous threads on this subject:

Realistically, how long could you live in a TD?

Am I totally crazy (living full time in a TD)

I remember we had a member named IRA who lived full time in a teardrop. I know there are others. We have also had members who lived in a teardrop for an extended period of time, as in trips across the country.

Welcome to the T&TTT group, a lot of good info here, a lot of good folks with much experience.

Keep us posted!

To live in a tiny travel trailer, you might want to consider indoor facilities. The weather is not always nice, no matter where you are.

I lived in my teardrop for over a week this spring, and it was an eye opening experience. (Living in a teardrop is nothing like vacationing in a teardrop.)

Since I had no table, I had to stand up to use my laptop.

I had to empty the porta potty daily.

I had to cook outside, even when it was cold, wet and windy.

It was hard to relax.

but you get the idea...

I am working on a design where I can live in a tiny travel trailer for longer than a week. I've not had much luck yet...

I'm thinking something like a cross between a Lusby and an O.W.W.

Mike...
