Newbie in Reno, NV

Postby blassiter » Sun Jun 24, 2012 10:54 pm

Hi everybody, what a great site! Thanks for sharing all the useful information.

We live in Reno with two dogs and two cats. We all love the teardrop trailer we purchased at the end of last summer (the cats like it when they have the house to themselves without the pesky dogs). We're still learning the ins and outs of Teardrop maintenance, setting up camp with a trailer vs. a tent and teaching our dogs to enjoy life in campgrounds with exuberant neighboring children.

Spent the weekend near Lassen at Hat Creek Resort (love the hot showers) and can't wait to get out again. Is it possible to go camping every weekend?

Welcome to the forum! Another Renoite here, we have quite a few members in the Northern Nevada region.

Camping every weekend sounds like an admirable goal to me. One of our members, nevadatear, is organizing a gathering this fall east of Lovelock in Unionville. Here's a link to the thread, sounds like a good time;

Hi Blassiter,
Welcome indeed! We're closing in on finishing our teardrop build here in Reno and dreaming of camping as often as possible. Hope to get to know you at a gathering in the near future.
All the best,

Dave

Whoops, I also forgot to second Shaun's mention of the Unionville gathering in September. Randy and I spent the night up there yesterday at the Old Pioneer Garden B&B (my favorite place in all of Nevada, I highly recommend) and did a little recon for the gathering. We have plenty of room for more trailers up there and are expecting a GREAT, relaxing fun time. Watch for an update on this forum soon! It will be titled "Twain and Tears"!
