If memory serves me correct the frame height is 17" +/- hit me just below the knee. I added a 15" cabinet and with the top the counter was 35" approx.

Pehaps a flop out floor with freestanding legs to the ground with the dining room under the floor might be a better idea. Make a great dining area or with side curtains a privacy changing room or storm proofing for the dining area. When closed the clam shell could provide some storage if built with a little depth to the floor as shown below

Did you use the HF? If so, how high from frame to counter did you go to get the 35" ground to counter height (which sounds just right)?

Yes, I did use the HF trailer. It will depend on how you construct your floor frame and how thick that is. After you do the floor and wall you can confirm that measurement.
I did not use a cad program. My measurement is 18" from the bottom of my floor frame.

Thanks guys. It sounds like my assumption that my floor will be sitting on about an 18" frame is about right. I think if I can keep the floor to about 2" thick I should end up with enough interior sit height and a roof surface that is not to crazy high.

Okay,
I'm having my doubts. It just seems like the frame height plus the necessary dinette height will put my roof ten almost a foot too high.

Ideally I need to roof tent to be on a rack on a roof about 5'9" above the ground. I'm coming in at 6'8" just to get the bare minimum head clearance (like 42 inches over an 18 inch seat - could be rough on a tall guy). I may be better off building a more conventional tear with 4' walls on a 2" floor on an 18" trailer frame. ~ 68" high pretty close to my Honda Element roof height. And I'd get the sheathing benefits of a 4' wall.

Any thoughts from the experienced?
