"Old" newbie from south central PA

Hello, all!

After a long absence and an attempt to build a teardrop which didn't get any further than buying an old trailer frame, I am back. The trailer frame was sold a few years ago. This time, with no garage or building site, my husband and I have opted for a cargo trailer. We will be using it for camping shortly (basically, it will be a giant tent on wheels and we'll be using our camping gear), but the plan is to convert it into more of an RV over time. No pics yet, but I will be asking lots of questions, because even though I've spent hours and hours reading this site and am very inspired, there are many things (probably very basic to most of you) that I still can't figure out. So thank you all in advance for sharing your wisdom and experience. :D

I will be posting a couple questions about tow mirrors and trailer hitch wire on the main forum. We need to get the trailer off the lot, but just found out that my TV's 7-prong plug wiring is a bit shaky and will need to be replaced. $> Guess I better get used to that, huh??

Zach and Kerry, thanks so much for your offers of help -- I posted the first of what will no doubt be many questions this morning (re' ceiling insulation and spars). I will give a holler if there is something that needs some hands-on assessment or advice, though. I think the electrical stuff will be the biggest challenge. My hubby says he can do it, but he doesn't have a lot of time, and we need to get this done fairly quickly. The economy being what it is, we may soon end up full-timing in it for a while...

Dawn, I know what you mean about things taking longer than you think. When my parents put up a pool many years ago, the two-word first step in the instructions was, "Remove sod." This step took our family several days of back-breaking labor in the hot sun. That phrase is now a running family joke for anything that seems like it will be easy, but you know it will end up taking so much more time and effort than you think. :) It would be nice to get together for a camping trip at some point whenever we're both set up for that -- thanks!
