Just signed up. We enjoy tent camping and I was looking at pop ups. Then I started looking long and hard at teardrops and pretty much fell in love. I dig simple and retro and the small ones are all about that. Will be looking for a pretty small and simple one. Vintage would be best, one that needs work is fine.

Just saying hello from central Kentucky. Will post a photo in the off road tow rigs as that will be the direction I will be going. Some great looking tears on hear.

Welcome, Redmon, from a displaced KY girl. We can all relate to that moment we fell in love with teardrops. I wish you luck finding exactly what you're looking for, but if you have basic tools and a place to build, you might want to consider building your own and then you can have exactly what you want. Building is a very fun and rewarding experience.

Either way can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks. I do have the tools and can find or make the space. Time would be the one hard thing to come by at the moment. Some major renovations going on at the moment, kids, pets and we both work full time (for now). We will see what I find first. The kids however are helping with renovations, 10 and 15 so they could help with a teardrop too.

I do have a military trailer I was thinking I would use to build on. It is a M116 and basically a flatbed with fenders. No sides are back and very stout. More than needed probably as it is rated a 3/4 ton but we already have it and it is paid for and doing nothing but sitting.

This is what I had in mind. http://forum.ih8mud.com/camping-outdoor ... ailer.html

The ih8mud forum is great by the way. Mostly Land Cruiser folk but a ton of camping and expedition knowledge over there.
