Postby usopa65 » Sat Sep 29, 2012 9:27 pm

HI Everyone, from the Buckeye State. Been lurking and reading and learning for a little while and I really am juiced up to get started on a new build, 66 years old and feel like a Col. Sanders with a new direction to go. Love to camp, fish, fly my R/C aircraft and metal detect, wife doesn't so I'm gonna build me a Tear Drop an have me some fun! Got lots of learning to do and I think this is da place. Lookin forward to meeting a bunch of great people, cuz I'm a people person. I build Hot Dog carts on the side, usually thru the winter but going to try somthin different now. So here we go. :D just bought this trailer today. what ya think?

Welcome from another Buckeye a bit north of you. If you make it comfortable enough your wife may change her mind, assuming you want her to

Humm

Buckeyes? Aren't they Worthless Nuts?

Hahahaha At least that is what I was told while I was growing up there. Dayton Ohio, really Huber Heights being
a military brat my Dad was stationed at Wright Patterson AFB, so I call that home.

Welcome to the forums. I fly RC too and hold the officer seat of secretary of the Wichita Radio Control club.
Make sure you make your Teardrop door big enough to place in a few RC’s.

Well Terry, everybody knows that a Buckeye is really just a hillbilly, who ran out of money on his way to Detroit, looking for work :D :)
Thanks for the suggestion about door size on my TD build , I'll remember that. Still in early planing stage so considering all advice!

Lee, an idea, involve your wife in the design process. Nancy designed the galley in ours and it includes a 3 burner stove and 6 gal water heater so clean up and meal prep are as easy as it is at home. You both would be welcome to come and take a look and having a wife talk to another wife is priceless.

Welcome to the forum. 'Lived in Akron for a few years.

That trailer looks like it is just meant to accommodate a drop floor
of some kind.

Good luck in your designing. Looking through the forum will
give you LOTS of ideas!

Cheers,

Hi Norm
Yeah, I think I'm leaning toward the 2+2/campster 12 design and possibly try to accomplice that area on the trailer. I went and weighed the trl. today and I've got to shed some weight. (weight 600lbs exactly) It's 82"wx120"l not counting the tongue. Thanks for the welcome, I've got a lot of learning to do. See ya!
