Yet another new guy

Postby Roebuck » Thu Feb 07, 2013 11:09 pm

So I just figured that I would pop in and say hi. I've been lurking for awhile and everyone seems super friendly and helpful so I finally decided to register. I'm looking to build a TTT I'm thinking as opposed to a TD because I hate crouching and of all the manufactures that I have seen, I can't find one who has a combination of all that I like and is light enough (I'm looking to hit 1,000lbs) so I figured why not try my hand at building something myself. It should be interesting because I have no experience whatsoever and am not all that handy to begin with but I do enjoy doing things for myself. So anyways, I guess that is my intro ramble. I look forward to meeting all of you. :D

Welcome to the forum. If you want to build, this is the place. If you don't find what you are looking for just ask. Enjoy the building process, it's half the fun. :applause:

Hi and welcome to the forum. There are several ways, as you probably already know to achieve standing room in our little units, from dropping the floor to pop ups of some sort. My wife and I visited the " Walk the Winds " gathering in Wyoming last year to meet some folks and get ideas for my then upcoming, actually now underway, build. We met Sharon there who had built a very nice unique tear with a roof that can be raised. You can visit her album at S. Heisley. She gave us some very helpful insight and might be a source of info for you if you decide to go with a " pop top " solution ( Sharon I hope you don't mind my voluntering you as an information source ). Hope to see you at some of the gatherings in the lower 48. Lee and Norma
