Hi from CA, but not for long...

Postby Hamsterbite » Mon Feb 04, 2013 6:48 pm

Hi All,

My name is Adam and my interest here is in Tiny Houses. We are making some big life changes and moving back home to MA at the end of April. Our plan is to downsize, get off the debt/consumerism merry go round, and simplify our lives.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Cheers,

-Adam

Welcome to the forum Adam.

There some nice tiny house out there.
I know I lived in a dorm room for most of my Military life and then in one small bedroom sharing a house with
other GIs. Even now with a 3 bedroom house I spend more time in one room and in my shop out back. I know
I could easily downsize my house but hate to lose my shop. The shop has more QS Feet them my home hehehe

GL what what you decide. :)

I hear you on the shop, which is why I'd have a seperate outbilding for that. You wouldn't have to build it for living in. Put a nice woodstove in there for winter work and you're golden. I'm have no illusions of storing all of my belongings with me in a tiny house. I have a fair amount of tools that I am not willing to part with, and I also enjoy homebrewing. For these reasons, I would probably have several purpose built accesory sheds to go along with the house on wheels. If I'm ever forced to relocate the house for whatever reason, the sheds aren't a loss since they'd be on family property.

Welcome,
Not for Long! I spent 18 years in the San Fernando valley, then in 2001 dragged my husband here. I'm also into tiny houses and live without a mortgage in a house my husband and I are building as we go. It's way too big, and once I'm done with raising my family I'll be going for a much smaller house. My husbands family is in Fresno and Oakhurst, so we will be building a second home on wheels for the west coast and winters. Most likely a gypsy caravan. I'm starting my build to get back into camping with my 12 and 10 year old. We're in New Durham N.H. Let us know when you get out this way.
