Now I can spend all my study time learning about torflex axles and such. Ugh. My previous career was as a carpenter/builder so I have the tools and most of the knowledge I think I need to build the camper itself. It looks like building the trailer from scratch is the best option for us because;
1) we need to carry two mountain bikes and I believe the tongue is the best place for them.
2) Torsion axles seem pretty nifty. Especially the adjustable kind.
3) I really like the look of the wheel/tire outside the camper box. The width we'd like to build would require the wheels to be under the tear if we use a HF trailer.
4) We will likely be taking the trailer up some pretty rough roads and I'd like to have at least a 14" wheel
Were looking at about 10' long x 4' 10" wide (OD) x whatever height I can get covering the frame rails and up with a 60" wide piece of aluminum sheet. Assuming I can get one. (2)
I'm trying to keep it at 1000 pounds or less empty as we will be pulling it with a Honda Element.
