Howdy ya'll

Postby khutson » Fri May 25, 2007 7:46 pm

Well I guess since we've started building i figured i'ld better start posting. This feels kinda wierd actually. I've been reading everyone's posts and viewing the galleries and websites for so long now that I feel like I kinda know everyone in some form or another. I guess that's my fault for never saying howdy.

Anyways, My name is Ken and my wife is Noel hailing from the great state of Texas. We've been pondering the whole teardrop thing for a while now and have been gathering pics, info and just about anything we could get our hands on. We've planned on starting this several times and seems somthing else has always come along. Well this time we didn't let it slip us by and we have been able to get going.

I realize ya'll don't know me but I have come to know some of you just by reading the posts several times a day for some time now. Just want to say THANKS! for all your info and experiance that you lay out day to day. Whether you realize it or not I would assume that there are many more like me that just haven't chimed in and eagerly consume all the advice and information that is contained here. I know I've missed out by not posting but hey I'm here now.

I know how important pics are and I wouldn't dare show up without a couple so here goes.

Thanks to all of you! I'm sure i've taken ideas and suggestions from just about all of you!

Hi Ken and Noel,

Something just isn't fair here! You have more done by the time of your first post than I did in my first year. I'm glad that you decided to join in the chit-chat. That's half the fun of the build.

Welcome aboard!

Thanks all,

We got the black ickey stuff on last night...whoo hoo! This morning, after a couple cups of joe, I'm gonna get that floor nailed down permanant like. I hope today me and Noel can come to a decision on the profile. Don't have any plans for this weekend and I was told I had to take Monday off too so I hope to make some good progress.

Welcome from another Texan. Have fun with your build. Looks like you're off to a good start. Let us know when you're finished & we'll have a camp-out in your canyon.

Will do! We go down to Caprock Canyons alot. Just a bit more freedom down there. Palo Duro Canyon is awesome but so restricted now days.

Been working all day on the trailer and my butt is dragg'n now. Have to get showered and shaved though headed off to a graduation party for some of my daughters friends. Come back get the garage cleaned up then will post some more pics of the days progress.

Either state park would good to camp in . I've driven through both of them but never been able to camp. Good luck with your build.

Hey there, Noel & Ken! I'm new here myself but, welcome aboard.

By chance, will we be seeing any airbrush art on your finished trailer? 8)

Thanks for all the welcomes.

Not sure if I will do any paining on the TD or not. It's one of those "I do it all day for someone else and not sure if I want to do more when I get home" type things.

Not trying to sway you towards painting your tear or anything but.........(we all like seeing peoples talents shine in their work) and I thought I heard people around Amarillo ( I can hear things in the future!) talking about the fantastic new advertising campaign that AirbrushFX was displaying all over the country. And to know that All "advertising" expenses are tax deductable..... Just a thought!

Yes very true on the deduction...hmmm I guess my only problem with the paint would be hammering a design down that my wife would agree upon.

I will have to think on this some more but the whole advertising business deduction could be in my favor....

It was a fast and furious weekend for sure. We were able to get the walls up and now we are spending some time to see just what exactley we want to do with the rest of it.

Should I keep updates here or start a different thread?

Still pondering the painting thing but DBizer has definatly put a bug in my ear and I think I have come up with somthing that me and Noel can agree upon for the paint. I will enlighten everyone once we get to that point.

Ken, since this was your "introductory" post, why not put your build thread in the "general" forum............... 8)
