Good grief, another Texan

This is the place where you can introduce yourself, and include a photo if so desired.

Did you get both the Cubby and Comet plans? From the order page, it seems some of the details stuff is in the Cubby plans.

Thanks for the Tom Swensen link.

Hi Sparksalot,

Welcome to the forum. I hope whatever you decide to build, works out well for you. But as Aunti always says, be sure and post lots of pictures as you go, to keep her bubble oil level. :D

See you around.

No I just got the comet plans. I can not imagine the cubby plans being much more detailed than the comet plans. Where in Texas are you located?

I hope to get a lot of photos to show progress. I like to have a nice archive.

You wouldn't be the gent who had a trailer full of wet sand would you?

I downloaded a set of the Comet plans last night. Wow, lot's of cool stuff in there. The holder for the small propane bottles seemed like a nifty idea.

I will be at the Beavers Bend gathering April 4,5,6. I think there are about 25 trailers coming. This would give you a lot of ideas to mull over. Will be my first large event and am looking forward to seeing so many trailers in one place. Check out the sticky listed in the south central section.

Sparksalot, I purchased the Kuffle Creek Cubby plans and intend to convert to a 5X8 version. The details are tremendous and there were lots of photos to help the visual thinking impaired, such as myself, understand what was happening. Another guy who has put together a nice manual with tons of ideas is Steve Frederick. Many of his ideas will help you tweak up your designs and add flair to the build. You won't beat the step by step in the Cubby plans though.

Good luck

Thanks. I did purchase the Comet plans from Kuffel Creek. Lots of good stuff there. I have been rethinking the frame somewhat, I had intened to go with a TSC 5*8, but saw one in person just after reading a thread on sealing the bottom edge of sidewalls. The upturned angle iron is a challenge, but not insurmountable.
