Allegany[1] National Forest sits just outside and to the south of Allegany State Park. If you want to camp in the National Forest, you're going to PA, not NY. I gather it's pretty loose down there, but beautiful. On the NY side, stay away from Red House area. Most of the sites elsewhere around the park are pretty packed in, but some of the tent sites located on cabin trails are nicely distributed. You really have to see each site to know if it's any good. The park is clean, though, and generally well-maintained. Awesome hiking and geocaching.

[1] (Also Allegheny and Alleghany), depending on where you're from :)

PA sounds fun. Maybe you (meaning those in charge) could come up with something to coincide with the Bark Peeler's Convention ... always on July 4th weekend. My kids like the log fights and spittin' competitions.

Hi Effie,
Welcome to the forum. If you can convince yourself to build, you could probably build with sandwich walls and perhaps go 5' high and maybe fit your kids in.

What does Raayat mean? I asked Frederick.
He answered without hesitation. Gatherer.
Of what?
Knowledge. Experience.
He paused, then added:
Options. . . .
