Certainly not! Nor will you have gone too far when it becomes a playhouse for the kids.

You guys are right, I've got everything I need! LOL!

The helper in the photo, Steve, is my dad. We've been helping each other on projects since I could hand the right wrench to him under the car. He has generously agreed to come to Texas from California and help me get started. We can't wait!!

Okay, we have to wait until the end of May '' , but I'm getting everything ready so we can hit the ground running!

I may have to modify my daughter's plans a little, Dave, but the crayon-cad is good to have!

Sparksalot, I can only hope that my kids will be as involved as yours were (and looks like the Princess Helper still is)! My daughter does want the foam mock-up as a playhouse!

Thanks guys,
Laurie

Image to the playground Laurie and family. Love it when Lurkers come out. Don't have to explain the :pictures: :pictures: :pictures: :hammer:  :designing: Or keeping the bubble oil level. 8) Love the BAD (blue aided design).

Btw the hardest part is planing and you are there. Now just make some sawdust and some of the symptoms will be helped. Well sorta. ;)

Eight? Wow, you got a late start, LOL The Princess was 18 months when she helped fix the heater fan.

Welcome Laurie,
You have a great start, and I like your profile, its almost the same as mine with the exception that my galley area is more square towards the bottom---I didn't think that I could make a hatch, so I made a modified version.
For my build pics go to http://s215.photobucket.com/albums/cc145/panheadjohn60/ and for pixs on Gearz Tv site go to http://www.gearztv.com/index.php?conten ... c=12_14178 Good luck on your build and hope my pixs will give Inspiration to you. The "Costa Lotta" only cost $1600.00 to build and 23 trips to Lowes!!!! :o

Try to make one of the Texas gatherings and you will come away with lots of ideas to steal, uh, incorporate into your build.
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Just when you think a problem is solved, an uglier result replaces it.

Hey, You have a great start. I just wanted to point out that Mother's Day is just around the corner and if you got foam for your B-day this could be a "paydirt" holiday if you play it right.

Keep up the good work and maybe we will cross paths one day.

Hey Laurie,

Go get em'. Good luck with your build and make sure to keep us updated with pics throughout the process. I'm about 3/4 of the way through my first build and am hoping to be camping in it in July. Building it has been a learning experience, I can hardly wait to start another one next winter.

Welcome, Laurie!

A couple years ago when I was working on my trailer, I got an axle for Mother's Day! By all means, milk it for all it's worth! Make sure your husband puts a nice bow on the Baltic birch, heck, maybe he can use some of the clamps to hold one on

Have fun with your build!

12 Steps of Teardroppers Anonymous

1) Admitted I was powerless over my teardrop build and my life was unmanageable.

2) Came to believe a power greater than myself (the teardrop and tiny trailer website) could return me to sanity.

3) Turned my will and my life over to building my teardrop, as I understood it.

4) Took a fearless and moral inventory of all my mistakes, mis-cut wood, un-squared corners, while building my teardrop.

5) Confided to at least one other teardrop builder the nature of these wrongs.

6) Became entirely ready to let the teardrop group members help me correct these mistakes on my teardrop build.

7) Humbly posted request for step-by-step instructions, with pictures, to the group.

8.) Made a list of all the RV building materials I still needed to buy (More wood, miter saw, power converter, fantastic vent fan, harbor freight trailer…)

9) Made a sincere effort to order all these parts, except when to do so overdrew my bank account.

10) Continued to take personal inventory of my teardrop build, and when I made a simple carpentry error, promptly admitted it.

11) Sought through prayer and meditation to keep my cool, when I had to redo my floor frame for the third time, because I still did not have it right.

12) Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of my teardrop build, sought to help other poor teardrop addicts like myself.

Submitted, with all due respect, to all of my fellow friends of Bill W. out there in teardrop land.
