Thinking about a change...

The main reason I am building my TD is I do long road trips to out of the way places and I need to take sleeping breaks. I have noticed that no one gives anyone any trouble for sleeping in a trailer or camper if they are not flaunting it. If you set up a tent at a rest stop you are going to be told to move along, the same goes for a pop-up. However if you are quietly napping in your trailer no one says a thing. Once I decided to build one I decided I may as well have fun with it.

I agree with Jocko, completely. You may be even asked to spend the night at complete stranger's places. I know, it has happened to me.

I will back Scott in this, attend a gathering or two and she what creative folks have done in their builds and see what is available commercially.
Click on the TearJerkers thingy at the top and join the Buckeye chapter. I am not sure what Galen has planned but Nancy and I are planning a trip to Kelley's Island.

Like a lot of others, we went from tent to pop-up and now finally to TD. For winter camping, the pop-up definitley gave some inside room for sitting and cooking. On the other hand no pop-up bed I've ever seen can compare to the warm, dry, and "comfortable as home" bed in the TD. And I actually like the TD galley along with our Coleman Event Shelter better than the pop-up for cooking. Plus, there's virtually no set-up time involved and breaking camp for the return trip is simpler as well.



All in all, I'm a TD convert. BUT......some of these standies being built by a number of the forum members has me thinking................
