DF, Welcome... I echo what Joanie just said.

May I recommend two things?

1. 2003-and-newer Ford Ranger extended cab, V6/automatic. Great! little mid-size trucks. Might see 22-24-ish MPG average towing @ 60 MPH. Reliable. Nice looking. Ford.

2. That you hook up w/ our very own Doug Hodder; he lives up the hill from you about an hour or less. He's a consummate craftsman and trailer builder. You OWE it to yourself to become better acquainted with this incredible guy.

Have fun! and we'll see you around.

That's about what I was looking for...probably a white 'bug truck' since there are more of them out there. Scoot should fit in the bed with the gate down.

I've heard there are timing belt issues with the Rangers? Or was that just random? Or a certain year?

And...is this famous Doug you speak of in Auburn? Must get truck first, then see what I can do about a tear. I like the teardrop shaped ones (duh...but I know some call the tiny ones that are like mini bread loaves 'teardrops'...but I want a classic looking tear!)

Thanks for the info. I'll keep looking online for a Ranger. It's what I really want, but that may not be the best choice. You guys will help me with guidance on that, I'm sure!!! And I welcome all the advice you can send me!
