8) Hi Michael, who is not a punk kid! Can tell by your posts that you have a passion for TD and the desire. You are off to a fine start. As you could see by your initial post and replies, the forum has friendly folks, who are so talented. Roly would be a great person to meet as he personifies what Teardrop Spirit is all about. You can probably find enough people and parts to build a couple of TD on this forum. Keep your quest going (and your patience)

Mike, check out my album, I built mine with minimal woodworking experience and a few decent powertools on a used 4x8 Harbor freight trailer. I have running water, 12v and 120v power outlets throughout, and it fits a real full size mattress. All the materials came from Home Depot and the pick-ur-part junk yard. You will spend almost as much time restoring one as you would building new.

Total building cost for me was under $1000, though my plans for solar panels and an aluminum awning will probably tack on a couple hundred more.

Im happy to give advise

Its came to the point where I wont have time to build one, So it looks like I'm going to have to find someone to build one for me, maybe donate a few weekends a month or for how ever much time it takes. Or im going to have to keep browsing for one, and wait for it to pop up for sale. I have about a 2000 dollar budget, and I want to get the ball rolling ASAP. I have became a bit more irritable with my searches of no luck. If anyone is interested in building one for me, Let me know.

Yes, in following the other thread with his posts...an episode of As the Teardrop Rolls....
He was attending a wedding and his mother put in a bid for him. His relatives in Cali will help by picking it up and storing it. Stay tuned for an update from him soon.

But Nanny, that's not what he said. What he said was he has family 5 hours away from Nashville that is going to pick it up for him and store it until he can make arrangements to get it. ;)

 Thanks ,Gage. I see that the relatives are in Tenn. now where the seller is! (5 hrs. away) How neat that he connected and it worked out for both seller and buyer. I think it's great to induct some young'uns into the TD lifestyle.

Okay! I am new to the T&TT Forum and wish I was Michaels age!
As I have been camping all my life and have been in the Hot Rod .. Street Rod scene for 36 yrs. Have allways thought it would be great to have a teardrop...but have always been a tenter.
When I read about someone likre Michael, Ijust wis I would have taken the step he is about to take. As it is about to reshape his life forever!
I personally wish I was closer to hime to help hom and encourage him.
But, I am almost 60 and about to enter the next phase of my life. And have chosen to fill one of the things on my personal "Bucket List"
buid a "TEARDROP TRAiLER".
Unfortunateley I am well past the "It must be simple" stage.
I am embarking on the concept but not the norm.
And building something to have a lot of fun with that will fit into both my old world of friends and my new ones that I hope to meet here on this Forum.
Thus, I am bulding my own unique Teardrop with a bit of Automotive flair, and plan to embark on a 12,000 mile USA tour in 2012, with my creation behind a 1961 Studebaker Hawk which is also currently under construction.
Hope to see Mike and the rest of you somewhere along the road.
