Oh...I would definitely cut that door opening bigger...Now! You won't be happy with it until you do that.
The problem that I see is that you may have to add new structure boards, to help support the larger opening; but, it can and should be done.
Other than that, it's a nice little start of a teardrop and you should be very happy with it. Best wishes on the completion of your build.

Absolutely cut the door larger. It will not effect the structural integrity and make the functionality so much greater.
