That is a tough one- I always went for the overtime, when I should have just stayed in a good shop for 20 years. The electrical construction industry is using more electrician mechanics now and uses fewer journeyman- not good. My ball crystal says the next recession will make a non-construction job seem like the smart move. Find a way to make money in those off months that isn't electrical. - good luck.

We also have similar dogs- mine is a Silky Terrier- Sparky is almost 10 yrs old. Our daughter is 15= the fun years.

My generator is a 2500watt Craftsman (powered by Honda), which added a little over 80 lbs (with swivel table/slide-out features). Added an extended-run tank (also on a slide) and plumbing, so that was another 15 (I keep the tank dry until needed). And, for safety, I added another fire extinguisher next to it=10 more lbs.

And, about the dog(s): my constant companion 124508a Dorkie, has supplemented/competed with her predecessor (still my "other" constant companion for at least ten years), Scooter (aka Spike), a Silky Terrier!

The similarities keep on coming! Added: a better picture of the generator on my original turn/slide mechanism. Rebuilt it using $$$ better $$$ parts.
