That's brilliant Bob! Thanks for the info on the material and especailly the secret with the 3/4" pvc "dam" inside. This route might solve my problem, as it appears that the leak really occurs where the hinge (which is too short to meet the sides) and the side come together. This leaves a small gap between the hatch, the body and the hinge.
Then if necessary I could still apply aluminum trim along the edge of the galley and the rest of the body to ensure a great seal there are well. Thanks again that's a great help!
By the way. I notices the "Growing Older But Not Up" quote. Might this be a reference to an earlier Jimmy Buffett song???
