How about: Elizabeth Voltage and Short Circuit/ Elizabeth Voltage and Sparks-A-Lot.
Since it will be a long transformation it could be: Elizabeth Voltage and The TRANSFORMER
Have a great time and post pics.

Oh man, what a bounty of name suggestions. Though  I don't *quite get the "Current Bush." It has a ring to it..

Short Circuit! Now, that's a good one
Or, related: Long Arc, The Stinger...

Hrm, will keep thinking on it to see what I learn about its personality as I get into it. Maybe I'll have a naming ceremony of the 22nd of May when I take off

Also, a clarification from the build journal: my 18 days begins on the 6th of May. I'm just getting warmed up now. I'm profusely apologetic if I got people excited for the race before it was on. But I promise a good show beginning May 6!

Come see the haul I picked up today on the Build Journal!

thanks for the energy, everyone,

More soon

Have you never been camping off of the grid, when your wife pulls out some electrical appliance that she has packed.
And the first thing that comes to your mind is " does she expect to plug this thing into a Current Bush?"
Well I have been looking for that elusive Current Bush on numerous occasions over the past 45 years!
Good Luck with your name choices!

You are doing it wrong !

I learned this lesson when I was 12? / maybe 13? Our scoutmaster Mr. Forrester was ready for his morning shave and asked the guys to spread out and look for a tree that had been hit by lightning. After several minutes one group reported in and sure enough they had found an old blighted elm tree that had the appearance of having been hit.
We all gathered about as Mr. Forrester pulled out his jack knife and deftly carved 2 slots in the tree trunk and promptly inserted the ac cord on his razor. There were a dozen very gullable scouts that gasped in amazement when the razor came to life and he had his morning shave.

:rofl2:

Great Story BH,

A couple of comments on the plan. I think its doable. Here's my thread. viewtopic.php?f=50&t=49591
I purchase a partially done TD, a shell on a trailer on March 23,2012 on April 7, 2012 I pulled it cross country. I did get a head start with the walls cut and the roof on, and trailer built but I had to undo/redo a few things. It only had 1 door, and no insulation, but it did have AC, 120V power a TV and AC. The only tools I had were a 18V Ryobi rechargables and hand tools I pick up as I went along. With a 3 person crew for a week, good tools and all the materials available you should be looking good in 18 days.

My projected schedule ( assuming 3 workers
Day 1&2 assemble trailer and cut sides including door holes /doors
Day 3 Put floor on trailer frame, put sides on Trailer, install spars, assemble doors
Day 4, install Ceiling, insulation and any wiring for ceiling Cut cabinets and assemble basic cabinets
Day 5 Install Roof, Start Galley hatch
Day 6 complete galley hatch, wire trailer, Install doors
Day 7 wire trailer, install battery and charging system

Places you will get hung up.
1) Decisions, like how long the bed should be etc could delay things
2) Fitting and sanding. The more time you spend making things perfect the longer it will take.
3) Details. The Generic Benroy plans are pretty straight forward, adn I think with a qualified team of 3 it could get done in a week. If you do something different, then its going to add time. Make sure all your workers have a copy of the plan and know what parts they will be working on, so they don't have to stop you to ask too many questions. The GB plans are also good to help determine the order to things, and they will let you know when you need to wait on something because you need to do something else first. Read them and know them.

The current bush! I love it. And BobHenry, I probably would have been one of the ones to get fooled...

Tom, yes. This feels exactly right. with regard to your hangups, here's what I've been thinking:

1) Decisions: this is why I'm on here all the time and up at night drawing sketches. I'm a slow decision maker, so I'm trying to get a jump on everything I can see from all the way out here (bed length is one of those decisions). I see more and more of a solid thing in my mind's eye, but of course there will be about 100 decisions I never expected as soon as I start building. So it's just going to have to be a mindset: forward! Make the decision and then make it the right one...
2) Ditto here about fit-up. It will be a "not-too-precious" orientation to the project. that I have to cultivate. There are a few places where a tight fit is non-negotiable (hinges, water danger spots, doors, etc etc). I need to name those and let the rest kind of float. Keep in mind that much of the "finishing" will be done on the road. So I can really just concentrate on structure and essentials for this first phase.
3) The GB plans are wonderful. My team has them. We're reading, meeting for dinner to strategize, etc. I'm taking notes so I've got a generic order in my head and can feel safe when I improvise.

more soon, and thanks

Hey Bud, You can do it! No problem! I built mine with a broken leg and could only lift 15#s with my right hand.I think you can, think you can. Things to consider; cut your side profiles together. It will help in roofing. Keep your spars at 48" on center. Most sheeting is this size so if you have to have a seem in your roof you will need some support. There is an icon by each members name. a click on this will show their personal gallery photos. Get ur done. If we can be any help well, yelp.
Enjoy, Chris
