Hello from Nova Scotia Canada

Postby D'man » Mon May 21, 2007 5:51 pm

The kids aren't into camping with mom and dad anymore so our needs for a camper are quite simple. Must be our middle agedness but we love the idea of a bed instead of a tent and a foam pad for camping. The luxuries that some have put into these tiny campers is amazing. I think I could go a few days without the TEVO though. Power to those that have them ... pardon the punn.
Our spring weather tipically sucks here followed by a quick transition to short but intence blackfly season. The end of May till the end of September is camping season for most of us but we are usually blessed with a extended Indian summer until early November. The scenery is always amazing regardless.
The Teardrop would allow us to start a little bit earlier and go a little longer. The 2005 120 hp 4cyl, vehicle I drive doen't allow for trailer pulling but I think a Teardrop would be ok. The size is certainly a factor considering the price of gas these days. Anyhow, I don't even have a trailer hitch yet but I've been looking at buying and converting an old tent tralier to a Teardrop. Any thoughts?
I'll be using this site of reference and assitance whenever possible. Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Pictures are also welcome as a source of inspiration.
Best wishes from Nova Scotia for a safe and enjoyable camping experience. regards Hazel and Dennis

Hazel and Denis you have come to the right place to get information. We just ask that you keep us in a good supply of pictures in return. :D

Old camper trailers are heavy. If you have the skills you can probably cut one down. If light weight is what you want you might look into making or having one made.

You can get really light but you have to watch what extra's you put in.

Enjoy and Keep the bubble oil level.

Welcome to the forum!!!
Yes teardrop camping is most definately a hug step up from tent camping.
To be able to climb into bed, close the doors and be nice and snug inside is wonderful.
Take your time & figure out you want to do, create a plan and then make sawdust.
Also post lots of pictures. Some on the board crave lots and lots of picures.
