Hello from Butte, MT

Postby SamR » Wed May 23, 2007 10:43 am

I'm another lurker who finally decided to post... I bought a 5x10 chassis in late April without ever having seen an actual teardrop. Went down to Hanksville, UT for the Salty Teardrops Run for Robbers Roost in mid May and had a blast. What a great bunch of folks teardroppers are! Everyone I talked to mentioned this site, which somehow I missed in my searches, so I've been lurking ever since. My avitar is my chassis parked in my "workshop" last evening. My car is in the shop having a hitch installed as I write, so hopefully if the shop dries out, I'll be making a run to the lumber yard this weekend. Looking forward to chatting with you all.

Hello and Welcome!

I will be in Helena next week(York to be exact) visiting my dad and doing some teardropping and off-roading. Have fun with your build.
It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffee maker.

Image to the playground Sam. The chassis looks great so time to make sawdust. You got the picture idea, right? 8) The more you take the more level the bubble oil. :D ;)

Hey Sam!

It's great to see that you found this gold mine of a place and came out of the lurker's closet! It was a pleasure meeting you at Hanksville! Keep us posted on your build and have fun!

Welcome from one new member to another!

Man, if I had a dollar for every time I ran through Butte on I-90 I could have bought a house there by now! I love that rugged countryside and the Divide close by. My wife has a friend that moved to Whitehall that we've always meant to go see but we never quite got stopped on our way through.

Best wishes for a great build...I'll be anxious to see photos of your progress.

Hi Sam
We have talked here but I just now read where you are located.
We are getting ready to leave on a 2 week vacation to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone. We are taking our tear with us. it will be the first big trip with it. Yes I will have both fenders painted by then. I have resanded the one where the paint lifted. The weather has been so wet that I am having a hard time getting it done (I am working outside) I will post pics when the fenders are done.
Be sure to keep us updated how you are doing with yours.
