Hi, I guess I am the guy up the street that Joann wrote about in her post. After viewing and reading about all the teardrops on this site for the past year I took the plunge. With a handfull of money and lots of determination I am almost done. I have a few pic's in the album under construction and will get some of the finished product this week. Like a lot of you I have had large trailers and even a 35 foot motorhome but it sure wasn't camping. I wanted to sleep in a bed and cook in a kitchen but wanted to be outside, the tear drop camper is the best of both worlds to me. I decided to call mine the" Chuckwagon" That tells you a lot about a person when they name there camper. :D

Welcome aboard Roger,

I really like your design. But can you explain the T-shaped box on the front. Is it for external storage only, or do you have a pass thru to the top box from inside?

Also, on the rear, do your sink and table just fold straight up or do they somehow hinge and fold flat?

If these are dumb questions, sorry, just trying to get an understanding of your design. :?

Roger, Welcome to the forum,

That in a very cool teardrop!

Looks like you need full sized wheels and tires, it will make a wonderul "off-roader" I like how the ice chest sits on the folddowndoor.

Good Job, The people on your street should be wondering what all of you are doing?

That's pretty darn cool! The box in the front, is that for storage and electrical? The elongated window in the cabin is pretty neat too! Great design.

Chuckwagon

Postby Roger Henrie » Sun Jun 24, 2007 7:01 pm

Thanks for all the atta boys.
Questions
I have painted with house paint I plan on pulling it thru the brush and have a gallon under the bench for touch ups after it gets to looking bad. The horizontal front box is for folding chairs a 10 x 10 awning that hooks at the top over the table side and a 5 foot circular privacy screen for the other side. The lower box in front is for the porta potty. On the privacy side there is a fold up for a wash basin.
The lexan curve at the top front hides a open full width shelf.
The stove and sink area fold up and lay on the cabinets. AT this time I plan on using a lantern maybe later on I will go for power but for now kiss
I agree with the full size tires it would make a great huntin camp.
I hope I answered a few questions. I agree a great place to echange ideas. I will get some finnished pics posted this next week.
Thanks Roger
