NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

Postby Marti Domyancic » Fri Jul 27, 2007 9:15 pm

Hi, I think I have finally figured out this website, kindof!! I'm one of the newest kids on the block. I finished my tear about two weeks ago, and have already met some great folks at the Mendocino coast event last weekend. They made me feel very welcome, Thanks to you all.
I have been a fan of these great trailers for years, A friend found a 1947 Kit, and brought it to me. By this time the weather and vandals had pretty much done thier duty to this little guy. After further observations I decided there wasn't much to work with, and started to gather any and all info about rebuilding, material sources etc. and talking to everyone I could that knew anything about these trailers. I am an upholsterer and am no stranger to taking things apart and figuring how to get them back together better than before. I started tearing down and worked for two months on it when winter setin, so I tarped her and picked it up again this spring. And to my excitement, finished in great speed. Since I completely built this by mysef, I thought it only fitting to call her "rosie the riveter", for all us gals that "can do it". I am looking forward to reading and learning more from all you oldtimers about the finer points, like DO cooking and planning get togethers. Thanks for reading!![/i]

Hi Marti!

Welcome to the psycho ward! We're glad to have you join us. There's always room for one more. It's neat that you restored an oldie. I like to hear when a piece of our teardrop history is brought back to life. Any pictures? As MJ says, love them pictures.

As an upholsterer you have the skills to do some really neat interior work. I'm thinking that whole old-school tuck and roll thing.

It's great that you already made a gathering and met a few of the inmates...errr...ahhh...our close friends.

Wow, what a cool picture of the gang, thanks. I wish I lived as close to the coast as you folks, I would just stay there if I had my choice.
Just give me the word and I am sure I can pick it up for a song for you.
I really enjoyed the weekend with everyone, just made me feel very welcome, kinda like family, See you and let me know about that deal!!
Happy Trails MartiD
