newbie in Ohio

Postby Stressbot » Sat Aug 04, 2007 2:55 am

The other night at work, I thought of the perfect weekend. Camped down by the Ohio river with nothing to do but fish and be lazy. (Never mind that I haven't caught anything in four years) :o

I want to build my own little camper. I think it would be a fun yet challenging project. I've been wanting a camper for several years, but having lived at home until recently made it tough (You're not sticking one of those things in the yard!)

My dad says it's my money, but it would be less hassle to just buy one.
My stepdad says hmmm (which means "I'm staying out of it").
My mom says "What do you need with a camper?"
My good friend says "I thought you gave up on that camper idea and bought a house instead?"
INSTEAD?!
I have my own yard now! I will have my camper! (Eventually)

I like the teardrop idea, especially since my car will only pull so much. I want to camp, not drag my house behind me (no offense to those who own a big one) :)
The gooney bird always flies backwards because it wants to see where it's been, not where it's going. It doesn't care where it's going as long as it gets to where it went.

Welcome

Don't listen to others...........it's your dream not theirs.
It most definitely is a fun and rewarding project.
Good luck with your build.

Sincerely, Brad (another Ohio member)

I sure wish I had built a teardrop when I moved out of my folk's house. Congratulations on knowing what you want and actually wanting to build it. Take pics, ask questions, and post pics of your progress.

I only live a few blocks from you, so will come over often and give you a hand, if you want................Naw, only kidding, Ohio is just too far from So Calif. Good luck on your build, many skilled and unskilled have built amazing trailers and you can surely do the same. Hmmm, you know what, I'll bet it would be a real chick-magnet. Mine only attracts 75 year olds, but I'm not complaining.........Oh by the way, she's my sweet wife!

Roly, built one, finishing a second and sketching another ;)
