Newbie wanna be

I've been looking at teardrops and TTT's for months now- I love how easy to use and tow these are, but for some reason there are very few TTT's for sale in Iowa. Can anyone tell me why that is?

Peace

Welcome onemanbander,

Hope you enjoy the forum. Maybe you should expand your search to the surrounding states, but I'm sure that people that have one and enjoy it, are not too willing to part with it. :)

Welcome. I'm sure you will find a TD to buy, it sounds like you want to buy a built one. Are you looking for a new one? Comercialy built one, Little Guy type? or a more cottage built, Camp Inn? Or are you looking for a homebuilt or vintage?

Sidenote: Mike and Miriam, you guys kind of freeked me out with your reversed avatars. Just never noticed.

Thank you all for the kind welcome-

I don't yet know many specifics, but I do know I'd like to be able to pull it behind my '94 Ford Taurus- I'd like to be able to sleep 2- I'd like to be able to hook up to a campground outlet, but also be able to run on my own power if necessary. I like the teardrop idea, but am not opposed to a tiny trailer.

I don't think a toilet or shower would be necessary for any of the camping I would be doing. I like to cook over the fire- so an impressive kitchen is un-needed.

If I had the time, I'd love to build one myself- next best would be buying a homebuilt unit that I could tweak to my specifications-

A little more about me- I am a youth pastor, so I don't get 2 day weekends- I have minimal woodworking skills and zero metal skills. I am dating, but am yet to be engaged or married- in my line of work, it doesn't always work to go camping together with out looking "suspicious". So we may have to wait until marriage before we actually buy a camper- but that hasn't kept me from looking and dreaming about them.

I suppose if the right one came along for the right price I'd have to jump at it, but they seem so few and far between around here.

Thanks again for the kind welcome!
