Last Resort that prolly' shoulda' been the First

Postby wolfy » Mon Aug 20, 2007 7:45 pm

I came here on a link because of the cast iron Dutch Ovens and stubbed my toe on my first post. I'm sorry that I posted what I did, but can't bring back what I said earlier. I'm a moderator on one of my favorite spots in Nebraska where my "wit" is taken with a grain of salt....and a dash of Tony Chachere's.

I guess this is not the case here. Joanne was the only one that posted in responce to one of my subsequant replies and for that I am grateful. Every other post of mine has gone into the dirt. So I guess I'm going elsewhere in my quest of knowledge...Californians are further away away than I thought. I guess I'll just salute the contrails of the jets flying overhead and wishin' you all...Bon Chance

Wolfy I don't go into the DO or Recipe sections to post often but may I suggest you visit my favorite thread.

Then Wolfy, you didn't ask the right question.

And you didn't ask it in the right place. I notice you buried your question in existing threads. Don't do that. Start a new thread.

Put the question out there where we can't miss it.

I'll bet cha the answers will come.

Mike...

P.S. I don't hang out in the DO thread much either, but I'll bet you could contribute a lot to that area with your experience.

And just for shits and giggles (that not profanity used that way) I have a serious question. How can I cook potato pancakes without oil? Is it even possible?

Wolfy....there are a lot of us that may know how to build a tear, but are rookies at DO cooking...while there are a number that have extensive experience at DO cooking, everyone has something that they can share and we can learn from. I only learn how to do it from what people here have to suggest and from gatherings. Some of us, like me, need a lot of help...Doug

Wolfy, don't count us out. We really are here to help. Give us a shot and we may surprise you. After all we usually say Dutch Oven and teardrop trailers in the same sentence. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Roly, not the answer man, but will try.

Wolfy,

Sorry it seems we got off on the wrong foot. We actually are mostly a nice and fun loving group of people, but like Miriam said above I hardly ever go to the Cast Iron forum, so I didn't know you were here.

But, if you decide to stay around, just want to say welcome and I hope the rest of your stay with us will be better.

Wolfy...I have no idea what your question was but if it was asked in the body of an existing thread, it stands a goodly chance of not being aswered or even noted...if ya got a question...about anything, post it in it's own thread and I guarantee it will get plenty of answers...some of them may even be correct :D ;)

I musta' missed something. I saw your question about DO cooking and Utah, but I still don't understand what your question meant. Anyway, I didn't see anybody take offense so,.. no stubbed toe, no foul.

I DID post a reply asking for clarification but,... wait for it, wait for it,... it got ignored!  After all this, I'm still wondering what your original request was about. Wolfy, buddy, don't let me die without knowing why!? C'mon, man, help a fellow out, let me in on the secret.

Yeah, me too. Nobody ever gets it  :scratchthinking:
But more often it was just lame.

And I wrote several replies to the orig. post but never hit the submit button because they were all "humorous". Trouble brewing.

Eauquaix, this was my first post....http://tnttt.com/viewtopic.php?t=8461

Make of it what you will, but I didn't think that the vitriol I recieved from the one reply on my FIRST visit was justfied. It just turned me off....a simple PM would have turned the tide for me.

No replies or responses to my posts since that first,,,kinda' put me in my place. I ain't gonna' dump you guys, but gettin' off on the wrong foot is sorta' part of my life.

I've decided to jus' sit on the sidelines fer' a while and lissen ;)

BTW...I'm not beggin' fer' responses, nor do I want them. I just wanna' watch. Didn't Clouseau utter those words in one of the Pink P Movies?

Hey wolfy,

I read your post and I think you gave us the wrong one because there was no questions just a comment about pralines - Recipe section.

You should join the AM I a threadkiller topic they roast anybody and everybody, cuz ya know we like to have fun and are rarely serious......and don't call me surely
