Lots of new members!!!!

Postby doug hodder » Mon Sep 10, 2007 12:18 am

A quick check over the last 3 months indicates a membership increase of, on the average, 215 members a month....Welcome aboard!!...it certainly is growing. Last time I posted this info, it was only like 50 or so a month, and we thought that was a lot at the time. I think that was about a year ago. At any rate....this tear "thing" is growing...for all you newbies, create what you want, there are no set rules, other than have fun and post some pics of what you are doing, attend a gathering if you can to get ideas, and don't be shy about asking how to do a certain technique or accomplish an idea. Keep on building, camping, and having fun, some of your best friends in the future just may come from this forum....Doug and Daisy

Easy for you to say maybe September next year, don't think I can get the Van over there

I, with the boss have been to the USA on 3 previous ocassions, and hope to get back next year about September for a couple of months.

I have to say I lov the Country, but.. a couple of things:-

1. You drive on the wrong side of the road.

2. Four way stop signs (no roundabouts except in Sequim WA)

3. Light switches are mounted upsidedown

4. what's a "inch, foot, mile and a Gallon?

Fix these things and the USA may well become a leading nation

BTW we are not Down Under tis the other way

Thanks for the list, but just so you will know, we drive on both sides of the road down South.

Doug,

I've been running around this Internet since Explorer version 1 and still I'm amazed at how small the world has become.

I bet you might even get Ron from the land of oz to attend a gathering, you could rent him the rocketeer.

Thanks for the info

Ron, Nice observations, I'm glad you didn't comment on how we talk, because youall talk in the strangest way

Welcome aboard

John :)

As you'll see by someone's signature here, the metric system never caught on in the U.S.

With the exception of the 9mm bullet.
Here we go again!

Need to be careful there, if memory serves me well there are road signs with distances in Kilometers on either the I 40 in Arizona or it may be on the I 15 California. (now theres a nice drive for all you retro bugs. From Williams Arizona to Kingman on the old route 66 the road conditions were good and a very interesting stopping spot at hackelberry.) 8)

Then continue over the mountains to Oatman and on to Needles. On the old Route 66. That could prove to be a bit hairy with some thing in tow. (Rember the Lucy and Ricky movie called "The Long Long Trailer")

Back to the kilometer signs also on the state highway across the top of Montana. Check it out.

Ron, I'm guessing your avatar was not taken in Bundaberg, or if it was I've been badly informed about QLD (actually I've been there many times so I'm sure I cant be wrong) ;)

Very observant Steve I'll have to admit it is in the land of the 'YANK' lets see if one of the dwellers of that Country can place it. The pic was taken by a Japanese tourist, we took each others pics. 8)

The only bad part is, there so many threads when I check the board that I don't get to read all of them anymore. Like tonight, 106 unread posts!

Kinda like the big gatherings, I don't get a chance to visit with everybody. I guess it's a good proble to have, so long as you can catch up at the next gathering.
