New teardrop in the park

Postby Russ » Fri Nov 02, 2007 11:15 am

Hello,
I just found out about your site last weekend at a campout, so I thought I'd drop in to see what your about.
I've had my Benroy for about 6 years now. I camp 5-8 times a year with a historical group, and when I saw the Benroy I knew it was all I needed.
Last winter I rebuilt the rear hatch and changed the color to red.

Julie - I'm near Atascadero, Calif.

Mike - as far as I know, it's an original Benroy. The guy I bought it from beat me to it 2yrs earlier. It was a "barn find" for sale in the local adds, I called on it as he was buying it.
The original title was never recovered.
Two years later, I bought it from him. Destiny I guess....

A few more pics have been added.

Hello Russ, welcome to the group. Look forward to meeting you some day at a gathering. So is the Benroy for 'off road' or 'on road'.

on road - off road

Postby Russ » Mon Nov 05, 2007 10:20 pm

Gage,
The 6in drop axles facilitates four height settings:
Low rider = Axle on top of springs with 6in drop, has 1/4 clearance tire to fender.
Normal = Axle on bottom of springs with 6in drop, has almost 2 inches clearance tire to fender.
High = Axle on top of springs with 6in rise
Highest = Axle on bottom of springs with 6in rise

Most of our camp sites are accessible o using the normal ride height. But the last trip required a 4wd, and I spent 3 hours off road getting to the camp site. The springs worked great and it didn't bounce around as much as you might think.
