3 unknowable things about you

Postby Ma3tt » Sun Nov 04, 2007 10:09 am

we all like to talk about ourselves so how about three things we may not know about you.....

1. I held a king cobra while working at the reptile house at the LA Zoo while the vet gave it anti-biotics.

2. I used to collect mineral water bottles, I have a perrier bottle from the 50's.

3. I have a 5000 gallon koi pond.

1. I had a rabbit growing up that used a litterbox and hopped around the house all day, he slept with me everynight.

2. I have no fear of water, just respect of what 10+ft waves can do to my body

3. I am a lousy shot, no matter what I do I can't hit the broad side of a barn at 200yards.

hmmm....

1. I'm writing a cookbook. It's about 2/3rds of the way through final recipe testing...but the tech writing I have to do for work doesn't leave me a lot of energy to edit my own work right now.
2. I volunteer peer support for cancer survivors and newly diagnosed patients...I've been in remission from my own stage IV cancer for about 18 months. I discovered teardrops (and this forum) during a chemo infusion.
3. I would rather be judged by how important I've been in the life of a child than by how clean/organized my house is at any given moment.

1. My wife works at the Humane Society and her birthday is Halloween. This is her humane society dog, JoJo. She picked her up last year and they had a ball celebrating her birthday and Halloween this year!!!

2. Forgetting Halloween and with my wife's blessings...I went hunting last week over Marcia's birthday...no deer...but lots of brown bears!!!

3. I got back on Friday, and she had got me a new hunting companion from the pound...a really sweet 7 month old English Springer to replace my springer/lab that I lost last fall!!!

I'm so lucky for so many reasons!!!

1) I've been to the Arctic Circle twice (as a civilian) camping.
2) In 1995, I met a 82 year old gent who showed me his restored 1914 Harley Davidson Motorcycle - It was all original except for the (California) license plate. I went home then went back to his home later that day and presented him (for free) with an original/pristine 1914 California Motorcycle Plate. Made his day!! Afterwards, CA DMV had to license same, since it was an original year plate for his motorcycle. I thought that was realllly cool....
3) Been to 42 countries - Although there are MANY countries where I would enjoy living (like Australia & New Zealand) I wouldn't want to live anywhere except the United States. [My relatives came over on "the boat" in 1742 from Sweden - Guess it got too cold for them.]
