Started building my tear

Postby charvey1 » Fri Nov 09, 2007 8:53 am

Yeah I'm a newbie.I've been lurking on the forum for some time now taking advantage of all the experience here.I'm going to attempt to build a tear with the cub profile.I plan on it being 57"wide by 10 ft long(full size mattress).I constructed a building jig as I am going to laminate ribs for it and strip build it.I had a local welder build me a frame for it which I picked up yesterday.I went with the drop axle as I like the lower to the ground look and also keep the trailer out of the slipstream behind the tow vehicle.Pictures of progress so far are in my album.I hope I posted this right not really a computer person. craig harvey

I live about 15 miles west of Syracuse. We go to the Adirondacks a lot as I've built a couple of adirondack guideboats we like to row on the many lakes and ponds. We have always been tent campers and I'm getting to old to sleep on the ground.A teardrop would be nice with a good mattress and no set up ritual as with the tent.I'm kinda winging it with no set of plans we will see how this turns out. craig

We're glad you've stopped lurking and started building. Looks like you've started an interesting build. Welcome to the madness. :applause:
Still graced with two eyes and ten fingers (due in no small part to luck!).

Well Craig,

It looks like you are off to a good start. Start making sawdust and before you know it, you will be done. Any questions, just ask.

See you around.
