Im a new guy

Postby zen » Sun Nov 11, 2007 10:37 am

Hi to all, My name is Daniel and I have been looking at this forum for years.
I built a tear last year. It turned out good but just a little small.
Well its that time again, I'm going to start a new tear. This time I hope to get some help from the members on this forum.

My last tear was 4x8 and the next will be 55". 54 for a full size mattress and 1" for bedding. I ordered the axle Fri. 11/9/07 and a friend will help me weld the frame. It will be a kit type because thats my favorite type. As I get going I hope you don't mind if I ask a lot of questions. Ive seen some really nice tears on this forum.

I am 49 and live in Morgan Hill Ca. Anyone else in my area??

Thanks in advance. Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Go ahead and ask lots of questions. We don't always have the right answers, but darn we like to give them anyway. Hope you show us pictures of your build as you go.

See you around.

I ordered my axle and it will come in about a week. After that I will be moving along with the build. I will post photos as I go. When others have done that I really enjoyed it.
Doug, I am the same guy who sent you a PM asking if you could help me get back on this site. I did what you suggested and got a whole new email.
Thanks, Daniel
P.S. I also asked a lot of welding questions on Grants site.
Guess with all the new teardrop friends I'm meeting this build will be fun.

You need to mark you calendar for the Dam Gathering...there will probably be about 75 trailers there. It's one you don't want to miss, and it's a straight shot up I-5. What's nice about posting pics is that everyone is really enthusiastic on a new build and it's a great source for encouragement to Git-R-Done! Looking forward to seeing your progress. Doug

Well...there's also the IRG 2.0....and once it heats up next summer, I know you'll want to get outta Dodge for some cool temps and good times. Doug
