New Manufacturer in British Columbia

Postby ingvar » Mon Nov 12, 2007 7:36 pm

Hello All!

My name is Ingvar Svard and I manufacture teardrops in beautiful B.C. I've been registered on T&TTT for some time now but my son is getting me more involved in posting messages and getting involved with the teardrop community.

I guess I better start with my hobby. Teardrops. I built my first teardrop in 2002. It was a polished aluminum, 4 foot wide body that took me just under 300 hours to build completely from scratch. I looked everywhere for parts and somehow it all came together. I surprised myself as well as friends and family with how well the project turned out.

I started pulling this teardrop to local car shows with my 1957 Volvo Sugga (this is another story I will post later with pics) and the response was almost overwhelming.

About seven built trailers later, my son Luke got involved and we produced a business plan and incorporated a family run company to manufacture teardrop camping trailers. It is called Acute Trailer Manufacturing Ltd. (A Cute Trailer!) and we have been incorporated since early 2006. Our teardrops are called Adventure Teardrops and our website is http://www.adventureteardrops.com

We currently offer a range of models, sizes and options with more on the way. The past year and a half has been interesting as this is our first business venture but I still can't believe the number of people that we have met that have all been positive about teardrops giving us that push to keep going.

I am really looking forward to expanding our network of people involved with teardrops as the people I've met so far I wouldn't trade for a gold plated original Benroy.

I look forward to getting to know you all!
Ingvar

Howdy there neighbor (well same province at least :) )
Those are some really nice tears, and I love the vintage Volvo.
Would it be too much to ask where you're finding the 5' wide aluminum in colours?

Hi Mike glad to be out of the closet, it was dark & stuffy in there.

Hi Greg the aluminum we buy off the roll, it's 8' wide & then we split
it for 4' or 5'. The aluminum pannels after they are cut to size go to the powder coaters, with lots of color choices & very durable.
