New from Rochester NY

Well, the bug has bitten me. I have been reading these forums going back and forth about building one or not and I finally decided to build one. Since I don't have a lot of free time to spend on the initial build or space I have decided to build one based on Jaonne's Desert Dawg. It looks like a very nice and simple design, no curves to worry about. I am going to buy a TS trailer (4x8) and build it on that. Since it is 4x8 I will be able to make the shell without too many plywood cuts.

I even have a final design in mind. It is going to be loosely based on a victorian/steam punk pattern. I have attached an image of what I am thinking about for a color scheme.

Build on. :)

I know, lots of photos.

Image to the playground Dean.

Joanne's Desert Dog is certainly a great design! So make sawdust and remember to get the seams waterproof.

The truth is a curved design is as easy as a square or angled one. Just a matter of what you like.

And thanks for understanding the picture and keeping the bubble oil level. 8)

Dean,

There is a Harbor Freight 15% coupon running now. I can send you a link if you need it. You can get the trailer in Henrietta.

I haven't started building yet but I think our tent camping trip in the ADKs convinced the wife. Rain and cold (in August).

Dean,

Welcome to the forum. A steampunk TD hasn't been done before as far as I know. I'll be anxious to see the pics of your progress!

Hi Dean

We were inspired by Joanne's Desert Dawg too. Ours is nearing completion, at least I hope so cuz we're camping in it this weekend  .

Good luck with your build.

OOOOOOO..... that brings back memories. I used to drive from Buffalo to Williamson every weekend. Sticky lips was a routine stop either coming or going. If not there....Scurvy Irving's in Sea Breeze!!
