Hey everybody I'm Ben and I'm in the first stages of planning and deciding what to build as far a TD goes. I know it's going to be 5 wide and i really like Airspeed's TD. Thanks for the great site! Oh yeah, I'm an admin on another phBB site for Chevy Colorados (which will be my tow vehicle) so navigation of the site and pics are no prob! 8)

Ben,
Welcome to the forum. The wife and I built our Tear last summer and let her sit all winter in the garage. Now we are finishing her up. Painting her in the next few days. We planned her for a few months before we started the actual build. We loved every minute of it. So enjoy the planning and the building.
Good luck,
Bill :applause:
Hope to see you on the road.

Airstream's tear is one anybody would be proud to own. Welcome to the Forum! You have probably found many examples of tears built by the experts on the forum. I'm nearby just outside of Goldsboro, NC and have started my tear. Had some personal setbacks that have caused a delay but hope to be back building soon. The folks on the forum are really skilled, knowledgeable and very willing and eager to answer questions or provide ideas or feedback. You'll fine this a very friendly and helpful forum.

Hope to meet you camping some day.

Thanks for the welcomes! I hope to start the thing in the next month or so. It seems to be an addiction and I haven't even started yet! It's all I can think about! Lgboro, it would be good to met you at a campsite one day! The wife & I were going to Charleston to tent camp next week end, but, with the storms coming, I think we're going to have to put it off. We were going to load the motorcycle in the truck, take off,set up camp and then jump on the bike and check out the sites. Oh well :(

Hey Ben,

5' wide... that's a good start. but we need more detail. You need to draw it up, model it, render it, make a scale model, and all that good stuff.

And since your an admin over there, we expect to see pictures popping up in your album really soon! :o

Just kidding, welcome to the forum!

Mike...

P.S. The Airspeed is one heck of a camper!

OK! OK! I put up a pic of the last pop-up we had, just insert a TD where it is and there you go, me in about 6 months! :D

The truck has changed a lot since then and I prolly end up putting air helper bags on it since I lowered it 3".

Does laying it out on the floor and up the wall in your den with masking tape count?
I'll post up once we make some decisions

Hey Ben,

You need to spend more time here. You're missing all the fun!

P.S. How is your cardboard assisted design coming along?

Image to the playground Ben! I am just catching up with who's who soooooooooo.

Would love to see another airspeed type TD. It is fantastic.

Masking tape on the walls. Sounds so much easier than cardboard.

Enjoy ;)

Thanks for the welcome! The masking tape on the wall worked really good! You just got to make sure to use painter tape so you dont't pull the paint off! I think we're going to with a TTT now though :( The wifey thinks the TD will be too small. Better now than after it was built!!

Ben my husband thought a TD would too closed in so I made it bigger. He loves it but would like to stand up now. :? 8) If you can find a TD to visit and even climb in you will find it is not really all that small inside. If it is just make it bigger.

Good luck
